MOTOR COACH TO DENALI!

Sooooo, we heard on Sunday that a fire had started in downtown Denali.  We heard today that our tour of the park was cancelled, however, our lodging at Denali Park Village was safe so far.  Fingers crossed, people!

We enjoyed our morning at the beautiful lodge!

Zam had us gather for a group photo before boarding the Motor Coach.

The scenery from our bus window was breathtaking!

When we neared Denali State Park, we began seeing LOTS of planes and helicopters flying back and forth.

When we reached the town of Denali, we saw the fire, the smoke, and the airplanes and helicopters fervently bringing in water.  Very sad to see but amazing to see as well.  Sadly, our Denali Park tour has been cancelled.  However, our lodging is safe when many of the area hotels have had to be evacuated.

Seeing it first hand gave us an appreciation of how fast a forest fire can spread.  Please pray for Denali.

We arrived at Denali Park Village where we enjoyed a fabulous lunch with a delightful waiter (from Bulgaria) named Ivan!

We checked into our rooms and walked around the property.  It is a great resort with amazing views!

We signed up for Cabin Night, which is a family style dinner with singing and a show!  It made for a great evening!

Rumor has it, there have been Moose sightings around here!   Actually, one guest showed us AMAZING photos of a moose that came down to the river that runs through our resort!  We are determined to spot a moose tomorrow!  That’s our goal and we won’t stop looking until we spot one!  Time will tell!
