KETCHIKAN, ALASKA, A HOVERCRAFT ECO-ADVENTURE & WILDLIFE QUEST AND RAINFOREST WILDLIFE SANCTUARY, EAGLES & TOTEMS TOURS!

Our last port of the cruise was Ketchikan, Alaska!  Ketchikan is known for its’ rain, its’ non-stop rain!  We were REALLY lucky with overcast skies,  but no rain!  (Perhaps a sprinkle or two!)

At first glimpse, Ketchikan was AWESOME!

The Peeps divided as we had chosen two different tours! Judy, Mary and I (the smart ones) chose the Hovercraft tour!

We stopped at a black sand beach where our hovercraft did donuts in the sand before stopping!  It was AMAZING!  At the beach we were met by about a half dozen resident eagles!  Our tour guide threw fish into the air and the eagles swooped down to grab them!

We took a small hike into the Tongess Rainforest and, again, we were AMAZED at GREEN everywhere!  We had to remind ourselves that we were in Alaska!

The other half of the Peeps, Bev, Deb and Jan, took the Rainforest Wildlife Sanctuary Tour.  They loved it!

YUCK!!!!  They got to hold a banana slug,

saw eagles soar,

and watched totem poles being built!  So cool!

We reunited and walked to Creek Street!  LOVED IT!  We all purchased our last minute souvenirs and enjoyed our hike around town!

What we especially enjoyed was a stop at a brew pub where we enjoyed drinks and the most delicious fries known to mankind!

Then back to the boat we went, where Mary and Judy were greeted…..

….by a hanging duck!  Have I mentioned that our room steward, Imade, is wonderful?

After a lobster tail dinner (that most of us chose), we watched yet another amazing show! (The entertainment each evening has been top notch!)

Followed by an evening of laughter and music with Jimmy!!!  (Judy’s newest best friend!)

CHEERS!  Next stop: Vancouver, BC!
