A DAY IN ANCHORAGE!
It’s always a good idea when you are on a “Kiss Our 60’s Good-bye” trip to begin each day with some stretches! Who knew?
Something that totally surprised us was the number of GORGEOUS flowers planted all around Anchorage! Who knew?
They are everywhere and fill the air with delightful fragrances! And lilac trees and bushes add to the amazing aromas! Who knew?
We decided that an Anchorage Trolly City Tour would be a great way to see the city! We got John as our tour guy and instantly knew he was the best darn tour guide in all of Alaska! Who knew?
This very Alaskan-looking pup greeted us as we boarded the trolley! He was a genuine Siberian Husky! Who knew?
This little train was known as the “Moose Gooser” and its’ job was to clear the train tracks of Moose before the main train came through! Moose follow the path of least resistance and love tracks cleared of mountains of snow! Who knew?

Statues of bears are scattered around the city! Bears and Moose walk onto the streets of Anchorage. Locals put fencing around their trees to prevent Moose having them for breakfast! Who knew?
There are more moose, pilots, airplanes, bike paths, attorneys, and people eating ice cream per capita in Alaska then anywhere else in the world? Who knew?
We ran into a humongous bear after our tour on the way to the restaurant for a late lunch! Thankfully, he welcomed us with open arms! Bears can be nice—who knew?
The restaurant that was recommended to us was Glacier Brewhouse, and it also welcomed us with open arms!
We were all curious about Bev’s bag of goodies! So she pulled it out to show it off! You name it, she has it! Yes, you definitely want to travel with Bev, however, she refuses to carry anything for anybody, stating she “is NOT your Mama (or Grandma!)”. Yup, she is definitely on vaca! For that matter, we are ALL on vacay!
We fell more in love with Anchorage today! After we returned to the Marriott, Zam, from Royal Caribbean, gave us a presentation on the land portion of our trip and answered all of our many questions! Thank you, Zam!
We can sleep peacefully tonight as we look forward to the next few days traveling through Alaska! It is now after 10:00PM and the sun continues to shine!! Who knew?
